“GODZILLA 70th ANNIVERSARY GODZILLA THE ART EXHIBITION” showcases artworks on Godzilla by artists from Japan and abroad working in a variety of genres.

(Sat) April 26, 2025 – (Sun) June 29, 2025
At The Mori Arts Center Gallery (52F, Roppongi Hills Mori Tower)

■The Exhibition Overview
The year 2024 marked the 70th birth anniversary of Godzilla. Since its first movie "Godzilla" was released to the present, Godzilla has been depicted in numerous visual works and it has appeared in front of us as a different being. They are not identical and their form and concept have been constantly changing with the times. The large-scale contemporary exhibition will showcase artworks on Godzilla created by artists from Japan and abroad working in a variety of genres. Please visit the exhibition site and enjoy their own interpretations of Godzilla. In addition, viewers will discover new Godzilla through a diorama that fuses Godzilla and art, which can only be seen at this exhibition, as well as a special video streaming created exclusively for this exhibition.

A Godzilla-art diorama by Toho Eizo Bijutsu & a special video created for this exhibition, only seen at the venue!

This diorama monument was created by Toho Eizo Bijutsu, a long-time special effects maker of Godzilla films. The remains of towns that Godzilla has destroyed over the last 70 years have been assembled, regardless of time or country, and the original Godzilla reigns atop the city. Godzilla is placed at a height never seen before, so you can experience its overwhelming 360-degree presence. Please come to the venue to enjoy the special video that concludes the exhibition.

The exhibition space has been destroyed by Godzilla, allowing visitors to experience Godzilla's presence not only through the artwork but throughout the entire venue.

Upon entering the venue, visitors are greeted by a space destroyed by Godzilla. Rather than referring to "Godzilla itself," "destroyed space" and "Godzilla" are displayed to remind each visitor of "Godzilla".
